Project Overview Conestoga college is seeking to retain the Construction Management Services for renovation of the Conestoga campus at 22 Frederick Street, Kitchener, and invites qualified Proponents to submit Proposals in accordance with the terms of this Request for Proposal (RFP). Conestoga’s vision for the building is to create a student residence with associated amenities and 4 new classrooms that integrates into the existing downtown Kitchener campus in the city core. The intent is for the residence to 300 student beds and amenity spaces, while adding new classrooms to the downtown campus. The existing building is 12-storeys and approximately 120,000 sf in size. NEO Architecture Inc. (NEO) was retained as the Architect of Record and Prime Consultant and is responsible for the delivery of a coordinated design package which will be further developed into the Contract Documents with all Consultants engaged by them or the College. The project is currently under the “Design Development” stage, and the College is seeking for the right partner to support NEO and the College to ensure that all selected design aspects for this Project considers the actual condition of the building, constructability of it, cost effectiveness, etc. The Construction Manager will be expected to attend bi-weekly design meetings and contribute to the process. During the Construction phase the successful Team will provide full-time site administration to ensure adherence to the established Contract Documents, Construction Schedule, budget, and scope. |
